Some medications may make a person ineligible to donate plasma, such as certain antibiotics, blood thinners, and immunosuppressants. Donors should check with the staff at the center about any medications they are taking.

Some lifestyle factors, such as drug use, may make a person ineligible to donate plasma. Donors may also be deferred if they have had recent exposure to certain infectious diseases.
